- “My Mom moved to Gateway when a co-worker of mine told me how much her Mom liked it there and how great the care was for the residents. Our family has been so pleased with the home Gateway has provided for our Mom. She has loved living there from the start. Since then, another co-worker has moved her mother-in-law to Gateway.
The staff is over the top in the care they give to everyone there. They treat my Mom like they would treat their own family. We are so comfortable knowing the care she is given when we can’t be there with her.
I took my granddaughters over to visit recently. Mom was having an ice cream cone when we walked in. A staff member immediately got a cone for the two little girls. What a treat and a memory to have ice cream with your great-grandmother.” - Jeanette H., daughter
- “Making the choice to move into a “senior” living campus was a collective one. My brothers and I determined it was time to discuss our concerns centering on my father’s deteriorating health and the physical toll it was taking on my mother.
We had done our research gathering information from several facilities in Lincoln and surrounding areas. All were presented to our parents and they made the choice to visit three.
Gateway Vista was the chosen result. We were initially impressed by the beautiful campus nestled back on 56th Street. They chose their apartment because of the view of the majestic oak tree out front. We were especially encouraged with the levels of care Gateway offered: Independent, Assisted and Skilled. It was November 2006 when we handed over our parents to the care of Gateway Vsita. My father died within 2 weeks of admission. His focus was mother and her well being. He wanted assurance she would be taken care of. He worked and saved for this all of their married life. My mother now calls Gateway “Home and Family”. She has utilized all levels of care at Gateway and has been exposed to an environment of caring, loving, and dedicated caregivers. One can just feel it and I know that each and every one of them have a genuine concern for her. She has made many good friends with the residents, each bringing their own life history to the finery of their home and new found family.
For the start of this journey, I have assumed the role of advocate for my parents. This has been my privilege. The staff at Gateway Vista joins me. They have been a source of support and guidance. They listen to my concerns and address them. The atmosphere welcomes an open door policy. The expertise in Administration, Nursing staff, Therapy Department, Social Services, Activities, Food Services, Laundry, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Support Staff can be described as “Departments of Excellence”.
All of them collectively, validate, we made the right choice!” – Susie L, daughter
